SKE Outdoors recalls TurboSke toddler helmets sold on Amazon

Summary: CPSC has announced a recall of 860 TurboSke toddler helmets sold on Amazon by SKE Outdoors.

CPSC has announced that SKE Outdoors toddler helmets have been recalled. The recall is for the small toddler size fitting heads from 19 to 20 inches (48 to 51 cm) in circumference. According to SKE only six colors are included. The CPSC recall notice says that "The bicycle helmets do not comply with the U.S. CPSC federal safety standard for bicycle helmets, posing a risk of head injury." The helmets were sold on Amazon between August 2020 and July 2021, with about 860 units sold. SKE Outdoors will replace or refund.

SKE Outdoors has offices in Katy, TX and Hong Kong. Unlike most importers they have posted full recall information on their home page, although it is down at the bottom.

The helmets were manufactured by Dongguan Flying Sports Goods Co. Ltd., of China.

The recall is dated September 1, but we received our official notice on September 17. It was posted on the CPSC site. We learned about it on September 6 from the Product Safety Letter, the definitive publication on all things CPSC.
